Pulp Free

With fold out chairs and brownies, we enjoyed a third year of fireworks at Chesterfield Mall. While better than last year (but not quite as good as our first year) - our new Casio EX-S10 digital camera not only took pretty decent fireworks pictures… It made a pretty decent video of the finally as well! So in my first ever YouTube upload, I’ll let you enjoy the fireworks as well!

I’ve come across a few pictures on my Internet travels that show before and after photos of glamor magazines and other such popular media distributions. This used to just be known as airbrushing the perfect skin for maybe somebody like Playboy or the likes… But digital is all but the norm now and my my my… you can do a lot with Photoshop. While I’ll admit to being pretty good back in the days of version 4 & 5 (that should tell you how long I haven’t been doing Photoshop work!) - it’s truly amazing what’s being shown as fashionable.

Now, I like a pretty face. There’s also some of that built in human desire to beauty. But I also think I now the differences in expectations from real to “too perfect”. So what’s my point? This Web site - iWANEXStudio - is a portfolio artist that turns pretty good into perfect. Question is - is it too perfect? You be the judge…

Supermodel + Pop Christmas Music = Disaster

Well, at least that was the conclusion that most of the Internet and television shows are portraying it as… While I wouldn’t call it the worst song ever (the vocals do leave some to desire) - this tune as been stuck in my head for the last week!!! So in my Christmas good cheer - I’m now going to share it with you as well!

You have to love those types of lyrics. Especially when the singing children start helping Heidi finish the song. I also found this fantastic blurb from AV Club that sums it up quite well…

This song and video are the aural and visual equivalent of eating candy canes dipped in maple syrup sprinkled with gumdrops that have somehow been made into a Yule log which is then served on the back of a sleigh driven by the jolliest snowman ever brought to life by the magical love and good wishes of two adorable children.

Well, I didn’t think that I was going to drop anything in here from YouTube - but I just laughed when I saw this… So I suppose that I’ll end up putting a few of these time wasters on my list…
