Supermodel + Pop Christmas Music = Disaster

Well, at least that was the conclusion that most of the Internet and television shows are portraying it as… While I wouldn’t call it the worst song ever (the vocals do leave some to desire) - this tune as been stuck in my head for the last week!!! So in my Christmas good cheer - I’m now going to share it with you as well!

You have to love those types of lyrics. Especially when the singing children start helping Heidi finish the song. I also found this fantastic blurb from AV Club that sums it up quite well…

This song and video are the aural and visual equivalent of eating candy canes dipped in maple syrup sprinkled with gumdrops that have somehow been made into a Yule log which is then served on the back of a sleigh driven by the jolliest snowman ever brought to life by the magical love and good wishes of two adorable children.

Next in the line of Pop songs unable to escape my needless playing is from Keisha White. Titled, “Don’t Mistake Me” - this tune enjoyably mixes the latest female pop classics parts with some classic (well, at least to me) Motown elements. I haven’t been able to find much information about this song so I’m guessing either I’m quite late in finding it, it slipped by mainstream Top 40, or I’m early on the music bandwagon. Be sure to have a listen:

Today is the start of my Earworms section - more commonly known as “song stuck in one’s head“. These are going to be a selection of songs that I’m currently listening to. Most will probably be some sort of bubblegum pop song - but you know… oh well!

This tune is almost sugary sweet and includes all of the required music measures. It has a basic beat, silly love song lyrics and the “Cher” vocoder effect to good use. Try it out… Let me know what you think…
